Painted Fabric

I come from a family of seamstresses. (My grandmother began sewing at 13 and quit when she was 90.) When I saw a bolt of luscious white silk, I bought three yards and painted it with sumi ink and red acrylic. My friend Julie draped it around her. It seemed to float as she walked. I bought six more yards and created The Three Graces.
